Incredibly rare Antique Victorian 10CT and carved bone skull fob pendant. You will not find another! Memento Mori skull jewellery became very popular in the Victorian era. A memento mori pendant is a wearable reminder of human mortality, translating from Latin as "remember that you must die." It uses symbols like skulls, skeletons, and hourglasses to encourage living with purpose, staying humble, and cherishing each day. It was also used to honour the memory of loved one who had passed. The gold is a lovely mellow rose antique shade, not as bright as modern yellow, it sits between rose and yellow gold. Blends well with yellow gold. Weighs a heavy 4.8 grams. Measures 33 mm high with bail by 11 mm wide. Round bail is 6 mm DIA. No stamp, tested 10CT and Bone. In perfect condition, it has been restored by my jeweller.
