Introducing my second piece in my TEZOR custom Albert range. Just in time for spooky season, meet “Charlotte”. Forged from Antique 9 and 18CT solid gold treasures and spun together to create this enchanting piece, this exquisite watch chain feels less like jewellery and more like a relic plucked from an alchemist’s hidden study.
Nestled amongst the beautiful mellow rosie links of an Antique 9CT watch chain rests an old 9CT Victorian yellow gold spider, its abdomen gleaming with a Peridot and solid Opal that flashes with trapped starlight. The spider charm resembles patience and intricate planning, whispering ancient secrets of cosmic patterns to its wearer. On the opposite side trapped in the spider’s web we find two flys of Ruby and seed pearl, once an 18CT Victorian brooch. The way the gems and gold tones blend is a thing of beauty. The Albert chain is 430 mm long by 5 mm wide without the T-bar, with the T-bar it is 480 mm or 19 inches. Charlotte weighs a heavy 33.28 grams. A flawless removable bezel set, violet Sri Lankan Amethyst found on my travels sits at the heart of the drop. Glowing with a soft twilight energy that sharpens intuition and clarifies the mind during chaotic hours.
This is a spectacular piece of craftsmanship and history, multiple jewellers over many centuries have touched these pieces. To recreate this today from scratch would cost a fortune is labour, as evident by the Valuation! Comes with a Valuation Certificate. All gem sizes documented in the Valuation. Valuation $17,630 AUD. There is a small pink prick chip to the Rubies, but I have kept them as is to preserve the historical charm. Visible under magnification but not to the naked eye. Each link of the chain is stamped 9, swivel clips, spider and T-bar stamped 9.
